Kreuzkarsee - underwater archaeology and recovery

In 2004 SANDY AIR was asked by a German TV producer to undertake a Helicopter expedition to the Kreuzkarsee in the Allgäuer Alps where the remains of a crashed RAF Halifax were laying at the shore of the small lake and in the lake itself at an elevation of 6560 ft. This expedition turned out a bit hazardous when the weather was closing in and the helicopter pilot barely managed to fly the crew members out before the clouds engulfed the lake and the surrounding mountains entirely.
